Apple hat der Firma von Podcast Ready Post geschickt,<\/a> weil sie nicht m\u00c3\u00b6chte, dass die ihren Markennamen “Pod” benutzen. Das haben einige falsch verstanden und denken nun, Apple wolle auch die Nutzung von “Podcast” verbieten.<\/p>\n

Podcast Ready, based in Houston, offers at no charge software called MyPodder that a person can use to manage and update podcasts on a portable player. The current version of the software works on devices running Microsoft’s Windows Media Player software, but on Thursday the company plans to launch a version of its product for the iPod. The launch is scheduled for the Podcast and Portable Media Expo in Ontario, Calif.
\nPodcast Ready’s device partners often ship the software preloaded on digital players, and stamp the “Podcast Ready” brand on the packaging. Apple’s objections relate to the startup’s use of the term pod in relation to mobile devices and software, Russell Holliman, chief executive and founder of Podcast Ready, said Monday.
\n“They don’t object to Podcast Ready, only to its use in the context of a portable device,” Holliman said. “But that’s kind of what podcasts are all about.” <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Es geht letztlich darum, dass Podcast Ready seine Software auf iPods spielt. Das aber ist lizenzpflichtig, sagt Apple. apple hat verst\u00c3\u00a4ndlicherweise etwas gegen MP3-Player die irgendwie mit Pod benannt werden. Und auch genau darum geht es, um die Player. Nicht um den Gebrauch des Wortes Podcast.<\/p>\n
Dass Apple auch versucht, die Rechte auf “Pod” zu bekommen, ist nat\u00c3\u00bcrlich ein Witz. \u00c3\u0153brigens zu bekommen, sie haben sie nicht, auch nicht f\u00c3\u00bcr Podcast oder Podcasting.<\/p>\n
