Almerica berichtet, dass Apple eine Podcast-Download-App zurueckgewiesen hat weil sie die gleiche Funktionalität wie der iTunes-Store biete.
Das Gegenargument:

Although my app does allow you to listen to podcasts (like iTunes), it also allows you to download them directly to device and that is something Apple does not offer.

Gerade das Apple-Argument, die App würde eine bestehende Apple Anwendung kopieren, ist Unsinn. Almerica sagt zu recht:

For example, any calculator app is duplicating the functionality of Apples calculator app. Any app that tells you the weather is duplicating the Yahoo weather app

Meine Befürchtung ist, dass Apple viele Leute in die Jailbreaks treibt und damit weg vom Apple-Konzept. Damit schneidet mal sich ins eigene Fleisch. Der iPod und das iPhone können Podcasts nunmal nicht runterladen, also braucht es eine App dazu. Apple sollte genau hinschauen was es macht, das ist das Alleinstellungsmerkmal, warum normalerweise Leute mehr Geld für ein Apple Produkt bezahlen.
